Albert Einstein

8. Prodigy & The Alchemist – Albert Einstein
Released: June 11, 2013 [Infamous Records]

The comeback album of the year goes to Prodigy & The Alchemist’s Albert Einstein. Let’s be real, Prodigy has not been the same since his early Mobb Deep days. The H.N.I.C. sequels have been a disappointment, and we all had the feeling that he was close to finished. Enter The Alchemist, who already has a deep history with Prodigy, and in my eyes is the best producer in the game right now. I guess on paper it seems like an easy remedy. On record, it’s even better. The Alchemist supplies the project with timeless bangers and Prodigy returns to old as he rips each track apart. I was surprised at how hard Prodigy went on this. I understand that emcees want to expand their sound and try new things, but I always feel their best material is when they return to the basics.
