To be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever listened to a Kid Ink song (Though I am aware of him). Either way, he’s not doing too bad since he now has the #3 album in the country with My Own Lane. I’m now really sure what his lane is, it can’t be being covered in tats because that’s a lot of people’s lane, but he did do something I have been suggesting to rappers for a while now; dropping an album during the slow period in the beginning of the year. Kid Ink’s My Own Lane sold 50,000 units in it’s first week.
Aloe Blacc makes it on the charts with his Wake Me Up EP. Although Aloe Blacc’s music now is more on the easy listening side than R&B (Check out his rendition of “Billie Jean”), I’m still happy that he’s getting shine and is part of a big hugely popular song (Avicii’s “Wake Me Up”). Wake Me Up EP lands at #32 and moves 5,300 copies in it’s first week.
