Well would you look at this? A Tribe Called Quest puts out their first album in 18 years, We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service, and their first album since the death of Phife Dawg, and they grab the #1 spot on the Billboard charts.
This marks the longest gap between #1 albums for a Hip-Hop act; 20 years (Beats, Rhymes and Life did it on August 17, 1996). This also breaks Jeezy’s record of 8 years with the recent release of Trap or Die 3. We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service sold 135,000 units in it’s first week.
