“Melanin Magic (Pretty Brown)” should’ve been the first song released off Remy Ma‘s upcoming album, 7 Winters & 6 Summers, instead of the Lil Kim featured (and mediocre) “Wake Me Up”. It samples Mint Condition’s “Breakin’ My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes)” and (of course) features a hook from Chris Brown. It’s paint by numbers but it’s a much better outing for Remy and Black Girl Magic in general.
