This Song of the Week is meant to be a statement on 2021, but take it how you want. I am just trying to end the year off strong with content for the site.
JEPGMAFIA’s “HAZARD DUTY PAY!” ended up making my Songs of 2021 list and here I am with another one. “GOD DON’T LIKE UGLY!” could have also made that list but it was a toss-up only because I heard “HAZARD DUTY PAY!” first. I guess it kinda doesn’t matter because both songs appear on the OFFLINE version of LP!, the version that doesn’t appear on streaming services and is only available on Bandcamp.
“GOD DON’T LIKE UGLY!” sounds like Kanye West during his religious faze, mixed with Lil Uzi Vert, mixed with XXXTentacion. And for reasons, this all works. Plus, God really doesn’t like ugly.
