Offset enlists the support of his wife, Cardi B, for his latest track titled “Jealousy,” accompanied by a music video. The song is serviceable and samples Three 6 Mafia’s “Jealous Ass Bitch” but I’m not sure if it’s something I will be adding to any personal playlists.
The music video, directed by Offset himself, has some positives, particularly its inspiration from the iconic movie Baby Boy, which is undoubtedly one of the best films of all time. It also features a cameo by Taraji P. Henson, known for her role as Yvette in Baby Boy.
Although the visuals are commendable, a part of me wishes that the music video was more like the promotional video that parodied James Brown’s 1988 CNN interview, featuring Jamie Lee Curtis, which was hilarious.
