Thanks Erica Banks!
A few months ago, Dallas rapper, Erica Banks had a show in the city featuring some of the best homegrown talent. Dorrough, Tay Money. Hashi Senjoo, Big E, Yung Nation, and many others hit the stage that night providing nostalgia and the soundtrack for new memories . Besides everyone’s phones, the night was also captured by Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta’s cameras for a future episode. It’s been over a decade since cameras came and captured the D-Town Boogie movement at Big T Plaza. The DFW metroplex is overdue for another spotlight.
Inspired by this act, I sought out to find the best music/artists to listen to for a showcase of what it feels like to be in North Texas. I’m from Shreveport, Louisiana, but after over a decade driving down 635, 75, 30, 80, 45, 35 and I-20 when I need to revisit how far I come, I’m glad to call this part of Texas home.
“Louisiana runs in my blood to pump a Texas heart.” – Hashi Senjoo
