This week we saw the return of Cam’ron to the charts after a three-year hiatus. Even though King Jerm was ready to put money down that Crime Pays would be on top of the charts this week, it went on the capture the #3 spot and move 43,000 copies. Now, I’m not saying 43k is bad; people aren’t really buy records these days. But I will say that I think that if Killa had delivered a better album, the numbers would have been better (Sounds simple huh?). That’s just my opinion. What’s next for Cam’ron?
Paul Wall’s third album, Fast Life, also debuted this week at #15. Even though I really wasn’t feeling the album, I know some people who did. I actually like Paul Wall; he seems like a genuine guy (I even got more respect for him after watching E! True Hollywood Story: Rapper Wives).
And the last debut is from Atlanta’s own Gucci Mane with Murder She Wrote. Even though it’s an album not co-signed by Gucci himself, he went on sell 17,000 albums and take the #23 position. I’m sure Gucci Mane Big Cat Records is happy. Shout out to Biz!
I’m outta here quick this week. Aren’t we all just waiting for the official Relapse numbers anyway? (Reports are saying 600,000+) Peace!
