Drake – “Over” [Video]

Is it me or is this video all over the place? I still like the song but I just expected something better than sitting on a bed (Is his leg still messed up?). Maybe it’s a budget thing. Directed by Anthony Mandler. Thank Me Later hits stores June 15.

  1. I see where he was tryna go with the concept, but the director failed. Video gets a 2.5 another failed video attempt by Drake.

  2. Who’s the Beyonce LOOK-A-LIKE?? Aside from that, it’s ok…I’m HOOKED on that J.Cole track right now, which makes it hard to listen/look at anything else right now.

    1. YES!! How dare you call that Jeezy video low budget?????? THAT SHIT WAS FIRE!! To this day that vid STILL gets me hyped!

      1. Common son. I’m not dissing the video. But lets be honest. That shit is low budget. I agree with you that shit was fire and gets me hyped. First video I actually purchased from Itunes

  3. You get what he was tryna do? I sure don’t. Dead at “is his leg still messed up.” I’ve only watched it once but I’m not feeling it, Best I ever had vid strayed from song concept but it still wasn’t bad, this is some Kanye waay left shit. And the “Beyonce look-a-like” is Rita Ora, a Roc Nation artist

  4. Yeah, this shit is pretty random. I don’t get it…

The video is weaksauce but the song is not bad.

Hope the album is worth the wait and hype.

  5. I mean it’s alright. But in all honesty, it’s all Drake sitting in a bed with lights around him.

Dead at the leg comment though.

  6. Hey guys I’m thinkn this is an alternate video or this could be a budget thing…..rember when they had the behind the seen for the video drake keeped saying things like how energetic this video was gonna be and how he was dancing and stuff….this clearly isn’t it

  7. SMH how yall let this kid become a rapper? He was on a fuckin white teenager show and hes from Canada. This is a huge step down from Pac, Nas and niggaz like dat. Yung Berg is harder than this nigga SMH

        1. Naw its not really the Canada thing its the hes overhyped thing, some good raps come outa Canada dont get me wrong. Its more about the Degrassi thing thats terrible

  8. Agree with the above comments about this video not being his greatest one to date (if he even has one yet) and it being creatively confusing. He definitely could have come with some harder, rawer visuals to match the song’s intensity and feel but I kind of the the message he was trying to convey about being an artist in transition to a new phase of life with his career.

I think Anthony Mandler being the director added some unnecessary expectations from listeners judging from his past work videos like “D.O.A. (Death Of Auto-Tune)”, “Run This Town”, and “Live Your Life”. I think budget might have had a part to play in the outcome of this video compared to his other work. I think Drake is attempting to much to follow in the footsteps of Kanye as an artist in terms of creativity and left-field thinking.

When it comes to Drake as an artist and TML, I think the hype and buzz built around him has caused unrealistic expectations for his music and that might ultimately come back on him when this album is released. I mean we’ve all seen what hype can do to a release (read: ‘Detox’ aka the new industry punchline). Video was decent but I put more weight on the song itself and it stands strong so this isn’t a complete fail for Drake.

  9. the video was aiight it couldve been better…i personal like the song but i dont think its gonna make any damage on the charts…im smh at @P hw u gon say berg harder than drake wn lately allberg do is make r&b songs and drake doesnt try n portray himself as ”hard'(pause).and not every1 gone be a legend like pac and nas…im not hatin or anything but u said sum bogus coments.#IMJUSSSAYIN
