When I first decided to check out Topher A. White’s mixtape Soul of the Streets, I honestly expected music similar to rappers that were also from his hometown of Memphis (Yo Gotti, Young Buck, Three 6 Mafia, etc). But I was wrong. The sound that Topher brings consists of clever lyrics and storytelling while backed by soulful backdrops. It’s a good listen and also a good example of another side of Memphis Hip-Hop.
