Am I the only one surprised that Nas is playing Nicki Minaj‘s love interest in her new video for “Right By My Side”? Then again, I already made the point in th past that Nas has been featured on three YMCMB albums in the last couple of years so maybe I really shouldn’t be surprised to see God’s Son kissing up on Nicki here.
It the grand scheme of thngs, I see what Nicki is doing. She has received a lotta criticism that her latest album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded was mostly a pop album. Having Nas in the “Right By My Side” video, when Chris Brown was probably the obvious choice seeing that he’s actually on the song, kinda meets everybody in the middle. “Right By My Side” is still basically a pop song, but what’s more Hip-Hop that Nasir Jones? Exactly.
