Casey Veggies

Casey Veggies
I prefer quality over hype, so being affiliated with Odd Future does not give you an easy pass with me, unless you’re Frank Ocean or The Internet, but former member, Casey Veggies is a young rapper capable of letting his skills be talked about more than his antics. While critics were praising Sleeping In Class and its most popular song, “Ridin’ Round Town”, his mixtape, Customized Greatly 3, was the body of work that got me familiar with the Peas & Carrots movement and showcased his songwriting ability, mature subject matter, superb production and the ability to collaborate with artists outside of the world of Hip-Hop without trying too hard to reach a different fan base. While his former cohorts refuse to work with fellow new West Coast lyricists, Veggies has added scene stealing verses to songs by Pac Div and Dom Kennedy. I planned on listening to the first and second installment of his mixtape series, but his latest mixtape, Life Changes, has me preoccupied from listening to his other work at the moment.
