Notable Tracks: ScHoolboy Q, Jabee, & Lil Uzi Vert

The site is looking a little dry lately, so I guess it’s time to break out another Notable Tracks post. This is where I gather 3 to 4 songs, sometimes with a theme, and other times, they are just new discoveries for me (I already explained what this edition is for). Let’s get into it.

ScHoolboy Q – “THank god 4 me (Remix)”

I’ve kinda been sleeping on ScHoolboy Q‘s latest album, Blue Lips. I haven’t really given the project a close listen, and we haven’t posted anything from the album yet. This changes things with this unofficial remix of ScHoolboy Q’s “THank god 4 me” by Uncle Kizzy (Alternatively title “tHkGoD4mE.”). It uses beats from Jodeci’s “What About Us” and Jay-Z’s “Big Pimpin’.” It sounds way better than me explaining it, so check it out for yourself.

Jabee – “Hear Me When I Pray”

You know what’s a great thing to hear when a song comes on? “Conductor, we have a problem!” Yeah, Conductor Williams handles production and steals the show on Jabee‘s “Hear Me When I Pray,” but the rapper doesn’t disappoint either. I’m also a big fan of sampling soulful gospel songs in hip-hop. This track is a problem.

Lil Uzi Vert – “Rigamortis Freestyle”

According to the internet, Lil Uzi Vert had the beat from Kendrick Lamar’s “Rigamortis” first and absolutely went off on it. (This was supposedly back in 2012, and I say “supposedly” because, well, the internet.) While songs like “Just Wanna Rock” or “XO Tour Llif3” are what Uzi’s known for, I prefer this or whatever he was doing on “Free Uzi.”
