Hottest MC List: The Unmentionables

Nicki

Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj’s title of a MC has been questioned since “Super Bass”, but you can’t deny that the Barbie has not been heavily featured on radio, T.V., and internet in the last year. The first two months of 2012 were littered with coverage of her Super Bowl halftime performance and Grammy Awards performance, due to controversy, but it was all press needed for her sophomore album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, which debuted at #1 with 254,00 copies sold in the first week. The singles, “Beez In The Trap”, “Right By My Side”, and “I Am Your Leader” are worked well for urban radio, but no single got more attention than the hit, “Starships”. Ms. Minaj can thank this one song for her event filled summer. The interviews and apologies followed for months later, with Minaj talked about for the rest of the year. 2012 ended with features: B.o.B, 2 Chainz, Justin Bieber, Alicia Keys, and Lil’ Wayne; a new job as a judge on American Idol while feuding with Mariah Carey for ratings, an E! Special, and the re-release of her album with eight new songs made her talked about for 365 days.
