I haven’t been entertained by an ashy to classy, morally corrupt trailer to a film since The Wolf of Wall Street and The Social Network. I wonder if it is a coincidence that both of those trailers feature songs by Kanye West. With its much-buzzed-about Sundance premiere in January, Sorry To Bother You, the directorial debut of musician, Boots Riley, finally releases its 1st trailer tonight.
The story of a Black telemarketer using an alternative skill that has been a secret among POC (Professionals of Color) bears a cast of some of my favorites including Lakeith Standfield and Tessa Thompson in the starring roles, Terry Crews, Armie Hammer, Omari Hardwick, and Danny Glover in supporting roles and featuring voice work by Patton Oswalt and David Cross. Be on the lookout for its release this summer, July 6th.
