Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne have a tumultuous relationship to say the least. Selina Kyle had a rough childhood and home life. Her father was abusive, and her mother openly admitted that she hated Selina. This drove Selina to find activities to stay away from which lead her to becoming a great gymnast. One day when coming home from school, Selina found her mother had committed suicide by slitting her wrist in the bath tub. Shortly after this, Selina’s father would go on to pass away due to overdosing, mixing alcohol and drugs. She was vulnerable during this time and was ultimately forced into prostitution. This is when she first began to steal from her high-end clients. Eventually she would begin to use her talents as a gymnast to attack more difficult targets.
Batman and Selina would cross paths during this time. Although Batman was enamored by Selina, they were on the opposite sides of the law. During their years of “will they or won’t they” Bruce and Selina gradually developed feelings for each other that went beyond physical attraction. Leading Batman to eventually revealing his secret identity and even proposing to her. Although they almost tied the knot things just didn’t work out as they both have trust issues, and Selina at one point even sleeps with Dick Grayson, causing a rift between Batman and Nightwing.
