Tim Drake/Red Robin
Tim Drake is one of my favorite heroes with one of the worst names. Even with the terrib;e good name, his story is amazing. Tim Drake was the third Robin. Tim Drake was present the night that Dick Grayson’s family was killed at Haley’s Circus. Years after those events he witnessed Robin perform a move that he had watched Dick Grayson perform, instantly he was able to deduce that Robin was Dick Grayson. Deducing that Dick was Robin lead Tim to deduce that Bruce Wayne was Batman and eventually that Jason Todd had been the replacement Robin in Dick Grayson’s absence. Once Jason died, it only confirmed his belief of the identity of Batman. Batman no longer had a Robin and became darker and more violent. Tim tracked down Dick Grayson and tried to convince him to retake the position of Robin. Although Dick declined the suggestion, he was impressed with Tim and would eventually bring him to Bruce and suggest that he take on the mantle of Robin. Batman eventually agreed after Tim showed how much of a talented detective Tim was.
Tim was unlike the previous Robins as he had not experienced the murder of his parents, at least not yet. During his time as Robin, first his mother would be killed in a plane accident. Later his father would be murdered by a villain. This would lead to Bruce adopting him.
Tim Drake would spend years as Robin, probably the best Robin as his skillset most closely resembled Batman’s. He was a tactician and a brilliant detective. Once Bruce Wayne was thought dead and the mantle of Batman would be past to Dick Grayson, Tim was relieved of the role as Robin. Dick’s belief was that he couldn’t teach Tim anything further as he believed Tim had become his equal, hence Red Robin was born.
