On Friday, The Alchemist and Hit-Boy announced a team-up via an Instagram post where they discussed rapping over each other’s productions while making beats. Shortly after, they released a music video for their collaboration, “Slipping Into Darkness,” which I finally had the opportunity to watch. I have to say, both the song and the music video are dope.
Hit-Boy took the opportunity to question the versatility of some well-known Hip-Hop producers, specifically Metro Boomin, Southside, and Mustard, while also throwing some shots (back) at Yung Berg Hitmaka. He raps, “I just seen Yung Berg spoke on the wave, I should do him like Trick Trick and snatch Hit out his name.”
Putting aside the drama, the song is worth a listen, and it’s cool to see these producers working together. Check out the video below.
