Song of the Week: The Clipse – “Grindin Remixes”

I know the Clipse don’t get much commercial success in the game, but they are heavily respected among the real Hip-Hop heads. I have always liked the Clipse, I just rather listen to them on mixtapes. I like their rawer music better than what they put out for public consumption. The two brothers (who I thought were twins for the longest) from Virginia Beach, Virginia have been getting it in with the music for a while, and it would be nice to see them finally get all the credit they deserve. On to the song, this one had the cathy hook, and the production by the Neptunes was coming at a time when they could NOT make a wack beat. Check out Weezy and the Clipse when everything was all good. They could have been magical together. Say what you want about the Clipse, but they gave Virginia an image that was outside of Teddy Riley, Missy and Timbaland. There are certain acts that I give I enjoy hearing drug lyrics from, and you can bet your ass (PAUSE) that the Clipse are in that catergory. Well enough of me talking, time to give you what you came for, so by all means, please enjoy this installment of Song of the Week!
