Lupe Fiasco releases his first single, “Around My Way (Freedom Ain’t Free)”, for his upcoming album Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap. And basically he just raps over “They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)” (Or Tom Scott’s “Today” depending on how you look at it). I have no problem with this because Lupe sounds great here and you can’t front on the “T.R.O.Y.” instrumental. But didn’t he already rap over this beat on Greg Street’s “Dope Boys (Remix)”? Food & Liquor II is scheduled to drop on September 25th.
