A movie about a young novelist who writes about an imaginary girlfriend that then comes to life sounds like a terrible Eddie Murphy vehicle. But what Ruby Sparks turns out to be is an insightful film about the reality of relationships and what you expect out of them. It also validated the fact that I know nothing about women.
