Paul Heyman Isn’t The Star-Maker I thought He Was

The 434 day WWE Title reign of CM Punk was a pure thing of beauty. Paul Heyman was the proverbial icing on the cake. Seeing what Heyman was able to add to Punk made me believe that any talented wrestler who was only missing a touch or personality or charisma could flourish under the former ECW owner. Unfortunately that’s not the case. Curtis Axel is one bad match away from being ‘future endeavored’ (dude can’t even get a breast cancer t-shirt for Christ’s sake) and Ryback is still losing to nut punches. Maybe the real problem is that creative won’t allow Paul E to escape the increasingly meaningless feud with Punk. Punk is too important a character to lose to guys of Axel and Ryback’s caliber. If Heyman could just manage these guys they probably could move up the ladder, but because creative has nothing for Punk to do Heyman’s lackeys have to do the job. – GQ Blu
