The writer/director of this film went on to direct Spider-Man: Homecoming. Jon Watts helms this independent film about a real estate agent trapped in a clown costume found in one of his properties. Filling in as replacement entertainment for his son’s birthday leads to him turning into a demon feeding on children.
Once again, Marvel execs saw this and Cop Car and said, “Yeah, let’s get this guy for our first film starring a character we haven’t had the rights to in years”. It was a successful move, one of my favorite films this year and one of my favorite recent horror films. ~ Short-T
