I decided to dig up in my collection to grab this gem. SWV is one of my favorite R&B acts from the 90’s. They had “Weak”, “Anything (Remix)” featuring Wu-Tang, “Right Here (Human Nature Remix)“, and so forth.
This remix is hard to find since the other remixes seem to lack Jay-Z verse from it. But don’t worry I had this version for a long time so I decided to leak it out. Jay-Z verse was really good on here but I don’t see why him, Lost Boyz, & Smooth Da Hustler were considered an allstar “All-Star” when they was clearly not especially Jay-Z since he was warming up mainstream after releasing Reasonable Doubt shortly before this remix and he only really made appearances on Big L’s Lifestylez Of The Dangerous & Poor, and Mic Geronimo’s “Time To Build” featuring Jay-Z, Ja Rule, & DMX in 1995. If SWV would have put Nas, The Notorious B.I.G., Redman, Method Man, AZ, Scarface, Spice 1, Too $hort, 2Pac, Outkast, The Pharcyde or somebody else on it who was really hot at the time then I’ll consider it a “All-Star” cast.
Overall the song is good. I love the sample. Kool Moe Dee and his group used this sample first though back in the early 80’s. You’ll have to find out which song I’m referring to if you’re a real Hip-Hop head….. I may talk my shit about certain artists and etc but I do know my Hip-Hop.
Alright well enjoy this!
See I don’t hate Jay-Z that much. “1996 Jay-Z” is definitely more lyrical and flow better than the “2004-Present Jay-Z”.
