I guess I’m kinda out of it this week. Why do you ask? Two artist debut on the charts this week (In the Top 50 no less) and I barely have an idea who they are. Well, I can excuse the first one because it’s a R&B’er.
Detroit’s own K’Jon releases his debut album, I Get Around, and also surprises many by debuting on the charts at #12. After consulting with Dark Angel, I was informed that his song “On The Ocean” has been getting some strong radio plays. Dang. Who knew? Answer: At least 33,000 people, that’s who.
The second entry is straight from Dallas (Texas stand up!). Dorrough also surprises people and lands at #36 with his first album Dorrough Music. Think about it; he pushed around 12,000 copies. Being that he’s basically indie, that’s not that bad at all (Jordin Sparks’ latest album did about 47,000 two weeks back). Why didn’t we review it? (*Checks to see why nappyafro didn’t review*) Oh, HE did “Ice Cream Paint Job“? Oh. That’s why… I’m joking. We love Texas.
