Drake – “Fear”

drake-fear

Well, here’s the one new track that’s going to be featured on the retail release of Drake’s So Far Gone. The song is produced by DJ Khalil and it does retain the feel of the other songs that are/were featured on the So Far Gone mixtape. And all in all, “Fear” is great and rather insightful song. Earlier last month Drizzy spoke to MTV about the track:

“I did this song that no one has ever heard before, ever,” he explained. “[It’s] a song called ‘Fear.’ I recorded it when I did So Far Gone — the first verse and half of the second verse I had gotten through. But then I just stopped because it was getting eerie. It was getting where I didn’t know if I could [finish it]. And then the other night I had a moment and I finished the song. That’s gonna be the last song on the retail [version of] So Far Gone. And the third verse transitions into Thank Me Later. So the last line of the third verse is gonna be the first line on my album.”

  2. This song is pretty good. I am still uncertain about Drake. I like his music but something is just off to me. Musically, he’s one of the best new guys out there.

  3. It’s a cool song, I think it allows me to make Drake more listenable too after his mainstream wallowing (in a sense) I needed that introspective Drake, not that Forever – shit that he was doing (Not bad, but I don’t like too mainstreaming, even though he needs it) Also his bff Wayne isn’t on the song for once.

  4. Nothing eerie about that track. Nothing really exciting about it except the beat. I really wish these rappers nowadays would get off their own egos. An eerie track is 2pac’s “only FEAR of death” -since Drake didn’t cry when Pac died … whatever that was supposed to mean.

  5. What’s wit ppl not understanding the Pac line??? Pac wasn’t the rap hero of Drake’s generation, it was Jay. Wats hard about that?

  6. Wats hard about that???… Well Drake was born in 1986 just like me and I’m sorry but Jay is not our rap “hero”… He is a great rapper yes, but anyone who know anything about rap knows that tupac shakur modeled rap as it is today. And had Makaveli dropped before he died Jay-z Wouldn’t even be relevant … if you want to get really into it.

    1. Well let me rephrase… Jay-Z is Drake’s rap hero, obviously. Saying he was Drake’s “generation’s” hero is highly debateable. Cash Money and Rocafella were my rap heroes and I was born in 91. I don’t remember Pac like that.

  7. My son is 7 and know about Tupac b/c i love 2pac…I don’t understand grown ass men jocking their so called hero’s but to these guys Drake is just competition. Jay is a business man now…not a rapper and if Drake doesnt watch he will knock off the competition…why do you think he made ‘death to autotune’ to knock off t-pain which at the time was THE HOTTEST CAT w/songs everywhere and t-pain go into hiding i don’t understand…Jay is pure talent but ive seen the knife ppl he is in the business of rapping not a rapper…just like 50 cent and diddy…some ppl love it some ppl make money…stop falling in love…wake up Drake b4 its too late!!!
