I personally have been looking for docs like this to be done properly and I’m glad to see this done, especially on BET. This network has, as our pioneer Black channel, taken an unfair share of attacks …well, maybe not “unfair” but nonetheless, they took/take a lot of heat for the programming. They are making a conscious effort to change that stigma and this documentary is one of the first moves. The focus is on women and the contribution they’ve made to Hip-Hop, and I’m not talking about thevideo vixens either…at least I hope I’m not. We’ll hear from MC Lyte, Yo Yo, Missy, Rah Digga, Eve, & Trina. Please make sure to tune in on August 30th (check your local listings for time), it’s bigger than Hip-Hop. Update: Check out the documentary above.
