Increase The Importance Of The Secondary Titles
The Intercontinental and the United States Championships are probably the most stifled rewards right now in professional wrestling. Just when a title receives a bit of meaning and purpose, it later becomes bogged down to irrelevance. If both titles are going to be stepping stones, then they have to be treated as such. For example, take a look at how John Cena elevated the U.S. Title this past summer and more recently, the five-star quality match for the IC belt that took place at Extreme Rules. If you are going to have one world champion, those titles have to mean something again. If one show is going to be without a main champion, the stars that are deprived of having that opportunity will need something to fight for and something for us as fans, to care about.
