The world of Brooklyn is so small. While I was trying to find info on Simien’s beauty salon set sophomore feature, I found Mariama Diallo‘s Hair Wolf. A short film set in a Brooklyn hair salon terrorized by white women taking over the neighborhood and Black hairstyles. I noticed Newlyweeds and Orange Is The New Black actress and Brooklyn native Trae Harris was apart of the cast. After clicking on Diallo’s IMDB page and found that she has another connection with a Brooklyn resident. She has been a writer/director on four episodes of Terence Nance’s Random Acts of Flyness. Before Nance starts directing Space Jam 2, the BK friends are hard at work on season two of the mind-boggling HBO series. Mariama Diallo is also developing a horror feature about the experiences of Black students set on a Northeast PWI campus.
