Watch Kanye West Perform “Black Skinhead” & “New Slaves” on Saturday Night Live

Kanye SNL copy

After premiering a music video in 66 locations worldwide and news of release date to a new album (Yeezus drops on June 18th), Kanye West caps off the week by performing “Black Skinhead” & “New Slaves” on Saturday Night Live. This new Yeezy album will be on some other shit. I’ll probably still like it though.

  1. The fact that he is calling his new album “Yeezus” is laughable, this is the guy that made Jesus Walks for crying out loud. I don’t like “Black Skinhead”, i’ve never been a fan of the frantic drums and yelling that is present from the type of rock that he is sampling here (Marilyn Monroe’s The Beautiful People), and while I looked up the lyrics and they definitely are good and saying something important, I can barely understand them under the screaming.

New Slaves; however, is one of my favorite Yeezy track’s that I heard in a while. I love the lyrics, the delivery, and the beat. I hope that the new album is more like New Slaves than Black Skinhead because I couldn’t take a Kanye album full of him screaming like he wants to win “Best Metal Album”. Don’t think it’ll be as good as MBDTF, but hey, what is.

  2. Black Skinhead..weak. New Slaves…lyrically impressive. When does Kanye have better lyrics than production? You never know what to expect from Kanye.

  3. Honestly, I think I’m finished being a Kanye West fan. Look at the first two albums, hell the first three albums you see growth. This isn’t growth. This just feels like lost. It’s getting to the point that I would rather listen to Kanye’s production, than his lyrics.

  4. Dude is my new hero. The fucking balls it took to do this shit on SNL, I’m impressed. Ye seems to always do what the fuck he wants. We benefit because it tends to turn out dope 99% of the time. Hell, I even came around to 808’s.

  5. Kanye is getting to be more wack to me. He try to act like he is for the people when he really isn’t. His first three albums were really good and I was a big Kanye fan at that time, not so much now. He really feeling himself too much to even call himself Yeezus…. What kind of name is that? He think he is god or something. I really hope he don’t scream all on the album seriously. This album better be good or I’m through with Yeezy. He act more like a female than females which is sad. The songs are okay just okay not grabbing like his previous cuts did.

      1. Yeah but Kanye really changed for the worst. He started acting weird after his mom passed away. College Dropout Kanye was ill… IDK wtf happened to the mane.

        1. That’s fair i suppose. Kanye is my favorite artist so maybe I’m bias, but I feel like Kanye has “evolved” rather than “changed.” Kanye is not the rapper you should listen to if you are expecting him to stick to the same script every album. He looks to reinvent him every go-around and you can expect the same with “Yeezus.” As far as what direction he will take with this album remains to be seen, but it is a “dark” feeling.
