I was listening to The Champs Podcast recently and the “Hell Yeah (Remix)” by dead prez featuring Jay-Z was mentioned. It reminded me on the feeling I had back in 2004 and how hype I was to hear a song with my favorite rapper of all time and my second favorite rap group of all time (#1 is always gonna be Outlast. I’m from Georgia).
This also reminded me of how split certain forms of rap were and how cool it was to see the epitomes of conscious and flashy rap unite (I’ll let you decide which sides dead prez & Jigga represented). Is that still a thing?
Sidenote: RBG: Revolutionary But Gangsta is still a classic.
