Dr. Dre feat. Jay-Z – “Under Pressure”

So I guess the mythical creature known as Detox may actually be real. I’m also guessing this track is a product of the meeting pictured above. What do I think about it? Honestly, I don’t know.  A friend of mine once told me that if Detox doesn’t make you head explode on first listen, it’s a failure. As you can tell from this writing, my head is still intact. But then again the track sounds unfinished and it’s tagged up. Update: Not anymore.

  1. It took ten years to make this terrible beat? Plus, what happened to Dre’s voice?

My expectations for Detox just dropped.

  2. uh-oh. if this is any indication, we’re all in for an aural sack-kick. I mean, you have Jay spit on a track, you want it to be some classic, quotable shit. that to me just sounded like a throw away verse that he barely phoned in. as far as the beat….I dunno, I’m not impressed.

can someone that makes music tell us if its a technically impressive beat tho? maybe this is intended as some complex show-off-to-other-beatmakers typa shit that I just can’t detect with my untrained ear

lets hope Jay did alot of other shit with Dre. lets hope Dre made a million better beats. lets hope this is just intended as some Asian Vinyl-Only B-Side stuff

  3. Scott storch sucks cuz this beat does…most of the reference tracks are better than this. Save the rest of my opinion 4 when the official is released

  4. oh wow Scott Storch, just when i thought you were finally into making good beats (Big Boi’s “Shutterbug”), you give us some bullshit like this? lol. I was not expecting good things from Detox, but oh man this is bad. Although, this is the first Jay verse i’ve liked in a while.

  5. OMG I knew this was gonna happen instead of keepin it West Coast he was gonna try to go super commercial and ruin the whole album. No matter how good the Detox might be it will never be a real Dre album with Jay-Z and Drake and people like that. He should stick with Game, Em, Raekwon, Maybe some Nippsey Hussle, Snoop and those type of guys.

    1. No doubt, he definitely needs Snoop and more west coast performances on there. I would love to see some underground emcees Evidence, Blu, Fashawn, Murs, Del….just a thought.

      1. In my opinion the album should be mostly Game. New Snoop aint the same as old Snoop. And New Em aint the same as old Em. He should get some Jay-Rock on their too. Have you ever heard Freddie Gibbs, I know it would be a long shot Freddie Gibbs would go great over Dre tracks.

  6. I don’t think you can really blame Scott Storch for the result of this. Last I checked Dre is the one that picks the final beat from a selection. Of course he is going to try and aim at the mainstream audience. I’m afraid Dr. Dre is going to pick artists that are hot now like Drake, Wayne, ect ect and not pick West Coast artists that have always been with him ie. Kurupt, Nate Dogg, Snoop, ect ect add in Nipsey and whatever. Detox will end up sounding dated just like every album now with thousands of features do.

  7. 4 Things:

    1. Ludacris wrote Dre’s verses, it’s OBVIOUS

    2. The beat sounds like the charater selection screen on Mortal Kombat

    3. Did Jay seriously just say “I’m bringin guns to work Gilbert Arenas”…LAAAAAAMMMEEEEE

    4. GAAAARRRBBBBAAAAGGGEEEEE

  8. Sooooo…no one is going to mention the 400lb gorilla in the room?

    Jay stealing Drizzy’s flow!

Hov…you betta than that. Always trying to come up off the young niggas.

    1. man, how you gunna put that out there like that King…

youre just tryin’ to trick me into listenin’ to it again arent you?

what, is it like Candyman? if I listen 3 times, is Scott Scorch gunna show up and take a shit in my mailbox or somethin’?

  9. wow that was terrible. this song is butt. oh btw mortal kombats character select screen is alot btr then this shit lmao
