  1. *Clap for ’em* Great job on the 2009 nappyafro Awards this year, the whole week-long presentation worked out nicely. I think this year with the “Man Of The Year” and “Album Of The Year” awards going to Jay-Z brought forth some great debate and opinions, which is always good to see. 2009 was in fact a great year for the genre of Hip-Hop and I think 2010 is going to be just as good with things like ‘Thank Me Later’ being released, T.I. returning to the scene, and more. I’m pretty sure we can add the ‘fro to that list as big things are set to happen for the fam. Can’t wait to see what’s in store.

  2. Well, Brother Ali is the only dude worth talking about out of all the nominees and winners.
And BP3 was sooo below what I expected (except DOA, that beat is ridiculous)

  3. Turn Yo Heaphones should’ve also gone to Fashawn, I don’t see him selling copies anytime soon, and I was like after I listened to Boy Meets World, I was like, definitely one of the albums of the year, probably on my top 5 of this year.

Producer of the year was defintely Bo1-1da. After Ransom (First beat I heard from him) he just skyrocketed. From Drake to Young Money, damn he’s getting that. I think Noah “40” Shebib should’ve also won, but I think he’s an engineer? I know he’s on Drake’s crew, but I think he produced a little bit, and the stuff he produced was nice (Successful and engineered / edited almost all the songs on the album), and even landing a spot on Alicias album with Unthinkable (One of the best songs of the year)

I would’ve preferred Clipse to win, but that’s because I’m bias for them.

DOA was one of the more underrated beats of the year, glad you touched upon that. I personally like “The Travellers” from Us (Xylophone + Drums = breezy ass shit) as one of my favorite productions.

    1. Oh yeah, Say You Will was also one of my tops, because Drake killed it, Ye sang decently on it, and Big Sean did fine.
